Many students enter college unsure of their major. Most colleges require students to take general education courses and determine a major within the first 2 years.
Xello is a great way to find information on colleges, careers, and even scholarships. Each student has a single sign on account available on their chromebook under WHS booksmarks.
Xello and My Big Future (linked above) are great tools for students to collect college/career information and take career assessments. Students can use Xello to update their EDP's (Education Development Plans). EDP's are started in the Middle School and allow the student to track and plan for college.
Students can job shadow and go on information interviews. An informational interview is just asking someone that works in an interesting job or career to spend 15 or 20 minutes telling you where they received their degree or training and what a typical day is like.
