If you or someone you know needs to speak with someone for mental health crisis support, a new option is to text RESTORE to 741741. Trained counselors are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through this text service. But please do not forget, if you know someone is in immediate danger, dial 911! Removing Stigma
If someone you know is upset and their situation appears to be more than talking through a bad day, you should immediately notify a trusted adult, counselor, or other educator. This is the first and critical step in assisting a friend in need. Families can call the number on the back of their insurance card to find out what type of coverage their insurance company offers and/or there are some free counseling options. Mental HealthSchool Counselors should not be confused with community mental health therapists. However, school counselors can help in providing community mental health resources.
